facts about dreams

Dreams are a unique part of the human experience. They’re extremely bizarre, unpredictable, and kind of crazy. But they also have some very interesting facts that might surprise you! Here are five facts about dreams that you must know about.

1. Everybody dreams every night, even if you don’t remember their dreams

People who claim that they do not dream are actually forgetting the majority of their dreams. This is because when people wake up, they rarely remember any of their dreams unless something triggers them to recall it later. The only time a person does not dream is when they are in the deep stages of sleep.

2. Dreaming only accounts for a small percentage of your sleeping time

Most people spend roughly about four hours dreaming each night. Compare that to the seven or more hours you probably spend asleep at night and it makes sense that you don’t remember your dreams! However, these facts about dreams should make you think twice about the other hours you spend sleeping.

3. There is a serious condition known as “Dream Hallucinations” that exists in people who frequently do not sleep or have poor sleeping habits

People who suffer from this disorder experience hallucinations while they are wide awake and fully conscious. These hallucinations, and facts about dreams, happen when the person is falling asleep or waking up. They can be extremely frightening and even dangerous for people to experience.

4. Almost everyone has experienced déjà vu at some point in their life

The facts about dreams are that they happen during REM sleep, which is when your eyes move rapidly and you’re more likely to experience a lucid dream. Dreams also consist of images, sounds, smells, feelings and memories from different periods of your life. It’s natural for humans to have 3-5 dreams per night. However, some people have experienced déjà vu at some point in their life… Déjà vu happens often enough so it doesn’t seem like an anomaly anymore – almost everyone has experienced it at one time or another!

I’ve personally experienced deja vu twice before – the first time was when I was driving with my mom after visiting her house; we were driving down the street and she pointed out someone we knew, and I immediately replied “Yeah, my mom saw her yesterday!” (even though I hadn’t been there for at least a month). The second time was when I met up with an old high school friend; she asked me what she had written in a small notebook that she kept with her. It happened again – something that I hadn’t seen or experienced for a long time was happening all over again.

5. There are many possible explanations for dreams, but there is no one single explanation that is truly accurate

Many facts about dreams have been suggested by professionals and scientists over time, but none of them have been proven to be the definitive answer. Many facts about dreams are still ambiguous and unclear, so there’s no way to be 100 percent certain of what they mean or why they occur.

Now that you know some facts about dreams, you should have a better idea as to how bizarre our sleeping experiences can truly be! Although not every fact is known about the purpose and meaning of dreams, there are some facts about dreams that have been known for a long time. The facts in this article should give you enough information to get started on your own research into the meaning of your dreams!
