Why do people dream? How does a person get caught up in a dream? Is there a certain event that leads to a dream? The process of dream interpretation begins with the key question, “What is the dream about?” “What does the dream represent?” Sometimes dreams are so realistic, they are perceived as reality.
What you believe in a dream represents can often influence the way you see yourself in the dream world.
When dreaming, we often see ourselves in the dream world that we are in now. It’s more of a projection of our dreams. For example, if you are having trouble sleeping you may dream about a place where you like to sleep. This dream may become your current reality.
People who are experiencing other things in their lives will often have dreams that are similar to their current situation. A teenage girl who has moved on from her boyfriend and needs a boyfriend may dream about being with him. He is described as a young, handsome man. This dream means she will be single and need someone to love. She will now be ready to start her life in a different way.
Moreover, we have all had people telling us what is going to happen in our life. After the dream, we may find out that the prediction was wrong. Many people have dreams that don’t seem to relate to what’s happening in their lives. In these dreams, they may seem to be in an old setting, not in their present-day situation.
Purpose Of Dreaming
What’s the purpose of dreams? People often ask this question when it comes to a dream that is very meaningful to them. If we have ever dreamed about getting into a very specific situation, but it hasn’t happened yet, are those dreams meant to be a warning? If we live in a location that we really don’t want to be in, are those dreams a warning?
One time a dream got us in trouble. I was working in a grocery store. My boss came into the store and told me to stop the checkout line because there was a person who needed assistance. It was me. I didn’t understand what he was talking about, so I asked my supervisor to explain the situation.
Since I was doing all the work in the grocery store, my supervisor was the one to tell me what I needed to do. I felt bad about getting yelled at, so I immediately stopped the check outline. But, I didn’t get paid for that. I received a phone call for five days straight about the incident, which I felt pretty embarrassed about.
I later discovered that this dream was meant to give me a wake-up call. It was meant to alert me that I needed to change my career path. At the time, I had never thought about dreams and how they could relate to my life.
Reasons Why People Dream
While the reasons for dreams may vary from person to person, I think the most important is that people need a reason to do something in their life. There is a reason why a person would try to stop a person who is in a physical wheelchair from walking. Therefore, there is a reason why people dream about certain places and experiences.
Remember, we are all beings of consciousness. And every person is different. All dreams are a representation of the consciousness within us.
Hence, just keep in mind that our dreams are a manifestation of our consciousness. They are a reality check, a wake-up call, or even a funny story. For some, the reason to try to get involved in meditation is to gain more insight and remember things better. For others, the reason is to find a different direction.
