Generally, sleep occurs within 20 minutes of going to bed. If you don’t do so, you can read books or listen to music. These will relax you. Once, you feel tired or extremely sleepy, retire to bed.

Going to bed in an empty stomach or full stomach is harmful to sleep. Stay away from having heavy meals within 1 hour or 2 hours of bedtime. It is wise to have your night meal a minimum of 3 hours ahead of sleeping.

Moreover, do not consume alcohol or caffeine-rich foods right before bedtime. They have stimulating effects which can’t go away quickly. Though consumption of alcohol might make you drowsy, it can interrupt your sleep later.

A Relaxing Atmosphere Enhances Sleep

A dark, quiet, as well as cold room, is suitable for sound sleep. If there are noise and lights, you can’t sleep. If you are used to watching television or work on the laptop right before bedtime, stop doing those. It can make it challenging for you to sleep. You can use earplugs or darkening shades in the room to make it suitable.

You can opt for a warm bath as well as listen to some calming music that helps in making you sleep correctly.
